Dr. Tashi was appointed as a Chairman of Koufuku International Limited (KIL) in March 2017 and re-appointed again as a Board Chair in February 2020.
Dr. Tashi Samdup brings more than 29 years of work experience with the Royal Government of Bhutan and Corporate World. Dr. Tashi has held a number of positions as Board Chair and Director in many SOE companies. He also serves as Board Chairman for Bhutan Livestock Development Corporation (BLDC). He was the Director General of Department of Livestock for 6 years and currently serves as the Director General of Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA),
He earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) from Kerala Agriculture University, India, and MSc in Animal Science and PhD in Animal Production System from Wageningen Agriculture University, Holland.

Mr.Pempa Tshering, Honorable Director
Mr.Pempa Tshering has a bachular degree in Information Technology from Sherubtse College (Delhi University) and Master’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management from the University of Newcastle,Australia. Prior to joining DHI in 2019, he worked for 15 years in the ICT and the HR Department of Bhutan Power Corporation Lomited. Currently he is serving as a Senior Analysis in the Planning and Monitoring Division of DHI.

Dr. Tshering Dorjee, Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Tshering Dorjee became 3rd Chief Executive Officer from 1st May, 2020. Prior to joining KIL, he worked under Department of Livestock, MoAFs, in various Senior management positions as a Regional Director and Program Director in Regional Livestock Development Centre in the Eastern Bhutan. Dr. Tshering began his career as a Dzongkhag Veterinary Officer in 2002 and served as a Senior Livestock Officers in Trashiyangtse and Trashigang Dzongkhags.
He has 18 years of professional experiences in the same field and has built strong social networks with the dairy farming communities in the Eastern Region. He was largely instrumental in bringing up the dairy value chain development in the region through cooperative structure and was strongly involved in creation of KIL Dairy Processing Plant in Trashigang as a Government counterpart representing the Department of Livestock. He also served as Board Member on KIL Board from March 2017 to February 2020.
He holds Masters in Communication & Innovation for Development (MSc. Comm. & Innov. Dev.) from University of Reading, England and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from University of Bologna, Italy. Tshering has completed Higher Secondary School from Sherubtse College Kanglung in 1991.
